About
Yvette Campitelli-Slee is a final-year journalism student with a minor in Contemporary Politics and Communication from RMIT University.
Based in Melbourne, Yvette is passionate about journalism that champions human stories, social justice, underrepresented voices, and community. Her interests include print, audio, and photographic storytelling.
Yvette's portfolio showcases her work in multiple journalistic formats, including feature and hard news print stories, radio bulletins, photography, long-form podcasts, and television productions. Her practical newsroom skills and experience in various formats contribute to Yvette's adaptability and eagerness to create interactive and immersive storytelling experiences.

My mission
I want to become a journalist because I believe in the power our industry has to build understanding. Journalists tell stories and share knowledge in a way that connects people - whether it be from around the globe or across the city. Journalists can demand accountability, uncover hidden stories, uplift communities, inform and educate. It is a job that requires responsibility and sensibility. It is a job that requires commitment. I know I have what it takes.
I come from a community in Melbourne's western suburbs that, historically, has never really seen itself reflected in Australian media. The stories and experiences of residents here tend to go unheard. So, I understand the significance of representing my community in this space. I hope that throughout my career, I am able to give back by platforming our voices.
